5.56 Suppressors An overview with pictures
We had
a chance to put these five .223 (5.56x45)
suppressors side by side. Here are the Gemtech
G5, Yankee
Hill Machine Phantom 5.56,
the Surefire
FH556-212A,
the OPS
INC Model M4 MBS and
the Gemtech
HALO. We didn't get to shoot them all (yet) but here is a rare opportunity to
see them all together to compare length, diameters, shapes colors and weights.
The shortest, and lightest is the Surefire FH556-212A in the center of the photograph
but all these suppressors are close to the
same size and weight.

The Surefire FH556-212A
Flash Hider / Adapter enables the attachment
of the Surefire FA556K or FA556-212
suppressors to AR15, M4, M16, HK416,
and to other 5.56mm (.223 cal.) semi-auto,
bolt-action, or assault rifles with
Mil-Spec 1/2-28 muzzle threads. This
Surefire FH556-212A Flash Hider / Adapter
adapter functions alone as a high-performance
flash hider when the suppressor is
removed.
The
Surefire FA556-212 weighs just one pound
so aside from minimal length, it adds
only minimal weight to a rifle. Overall

We had a chance to
photograph and then test fire one of
our favorite firearm suppressors, the
Surefire FH556-212A. This 5.56x45 (.223)
suppressor is very short in length
compared to most 5.56x45 suppressors
and has a unique and easy to use quick
attach system. Precise tolerances provide
minimal and consistent zero shift no
matter how often it is attached and
detached
