This 12
gauge semi-auto and pump action combat shotgun
was designed in the 1970s and was produced
in the 1980s. This was cutting edge technology
at the time. The concept was to run the SPAS-12
as a semi-auto, then switch to pump to clear
any malfunctions. The pump action system
is also the best way to shoot tear gas and
less lethal ammunition
Most of the SPAS-12 shotguns
came with a folding stock with large
hook
SPAS-12 stands for "Sporting
Purpose Automatic Shotgun"
