Fixing a
Squib Round stuck in the barrel An overview with
pictures
We were
asked to fix a barrel with a bullet stuck
in the middle from a squib load (underpowered
charge) which did not have enough force to
push the bullet all the way through the barrel.
Sometimes this can be a real challenge, this
time it happened to be quite easy. I wrapped
some tape around a punch so it would not damage
the barrel, then dropped it in and gave it
a few light taps with a hammer. The bullet
moved down to the end of the barrel. Next I
used an AR15 tool as a fixture to hold just
the barrel while allowing the bullet to exit
the end of the barrel. The bullet just fell
out with a few more taps.
