Gear Review
An overview with
pictures
This is
the gear we used at the Tucson, Arizona American
Confederation of Tactical Shooters (A.C.T.S.)
monthly match at Pima Pistol Club. This is
a Eagle
Industries / SKD Universal chest rig with
an S.O.Tech Battle Load Carry System (BLoCS)
Small Zippered Medical Pouch and an Army
surplus magazine pouch (Desert camo). We
shot an AK47
with VTAC sling and an S&W
M&P 45
(dark earth). The chest rig held three
30 round AK47 magazines (it can hold 8 max)
and two pistol magazines (four pistol mags
max). Attached on the shooters left (right
in photo) is the S.O. Tech BLoCKS Zippered
Medical Pouch with a tourniquet and emergency
bandage. On the shooters right (left in pic)
is an Army surplus magazine pouch (Desert
camo) with a Benchmade
155 SBK under half of it (behind
pistol in pic)
One of our

and VTAC Sling, with

/ SKD Universal Chest Rig with Benchmade
155 SBK-ADC knife and S&W
M&P
.45acp in one of the four M4 / AK magazine
pouches. First Aid supplies in the S.O.Tech
BLoCKS Medical Pouch. It worked well, stayed
in place through a full day of action shooting;
crawling through car windows, jumping in
and out of vehicles, crawling on the ground
and running
With an AK47
slung over one shoulder with the VTAC sling the chest rig
keeps the magazines, knife and pistol out of
the way
First Aid supplies in the
S.O.Tech BLoCKS Medical Pouch. It worked
well, stayed closed
 
The Eagle
/ SKD Universal chest rig has pouches
for four (4) pistol magazines. The pistol magazines
can be used with the flaps down, protecting
and retaining them. Or the flap can be folded
back into the rifle magazine pouches so they
are pinned out of the way and the pistol magazines
are easy to access. The rifle magazine pouches
on the universal chest rig are large enough
to hold most modern pistols. We ran this match
with a S&W M&P 45 in dark earth which fit well
as well as it's magazines
The VTAC
padded sling on the AK47 worked well with the padded shoulder straps
of the chest rig
 
The Benchmade
155 SBK knife will be placed under
the inside half of the surplus pouch.
