Northern Gila County Shooting Range

Location Description:
The Northern Gila County Shooting Range Complex is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to Members and their accompanied Guests. Saturdays, the Covered General Purpose Range is open to the Public from 0900 to 1700, with a volunteer Range Safety Officer (RSO) on duty. Other portions of the Range are open to Members on Saturdays but closed to the Public.

The Club is a Not-for-Profit Corporation organized under IRC Section 501(c)(4). The Club maintains and manages the Northern Gila County Shooting Range, and has provided the range improvements.

The Club currently has over 500 individual and family memberships. The Club produces a monthly newsletter and provides a number of invitational organized monthly competitions. The Club has regular Monthly Meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Payson American Legion building, and all guests are welcome.
Records / History:
The Tonto Rim Sports Club was established in 1979, and is affiliated with the National Rifle Association, the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and the Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association.

The purpose of the Club is to educate and encourage organized shooting among United States citizens of the area, with a focus on better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. It is a further purpose of the Club to foster the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance. These are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of patriotism.

The Northern Gila County Shooting Range began operation in 1981 under a United States Forest Service Special Use Permit with Gila County. The Range has been developed, maintained, and operated by the Tonto Rim Sports Club under a Letter of Agreement with the County since that date. Operations and Development of the Range are overseen by the Northern Gila County Range Commission, which reports to the Gila County Board of Supervisors, and serves as a sole point of contact between the Tonto Rim Sports Club and Local, County, State, and Federal Agencies.

as if it were loaded.

Ted Marshall's reputation as the premier AK builder and AK gunsmith proceeds him in collectors circles.

Some of us go beyond the mere pleasure of shooting the AK47 and delve into the never ending quest to collect the accurate parts to eventually build the ultimate historical recreation of our favorite version of the AK47. When you get to that point you are paying more for an upper handguard than most people pay for entire rifles. You're traveling 2 days out of your way to visit a shop in a town that you heard might have the magazine pouch you need to hold the mags for that rifle.

When you reach this point you look to just one person to build your AK, Ted Marshall

We built and now maintain the Marshall Arms website
